Well just got done drilling out the broken end of the bolt that the 4x shifter pivots on in my 1 ton. Still need to re tap it, and helicoil it. New bolt will be here Tues.

It broke off! Duh! ;D

I shifted it into 4x and then the shifter hit the seat! Tried to turn it out with a punch, heated it no dice. Had to drill it, of course its in such a nice spot I didn't quite get it centered. I crept up on the size. Then blew the last of it out with a torch. Then over drilled it, taped and Helicoiled it. Ended up using a used bolt out of a parts truck. Didn't have the grease fitting holes so I drilled the bolt and taped it for one.

well happy to say its shifts like butter now. Eveidently my hard shifting problem was the grease was not getting in between the bolt and the bushing!

I agree. Back when i first got it it wouldn't take grease, I heated it and it took it. It looked like it was taking grease anyway! Evidently it was just squirting out the outside end. In my defense it broke when I shifted it into 4x with my hand. That was the screwed up part it would shift in no problem, and sometimes shift out very easy.
