For some reason, I just didn't like the bench seat in my 85. So I did a lot of reading and research before I decided that I wanted bucket seats with arm rests out of a 88-91 suburban, (A) because they were semi-easy to install and (B) they are comfortable. A couple days ago I was lucky enough to stumble upon a pair of buckets with the matching console out of 90 suburban. Both the seats were in really good shape, not a dirty spot on them. The console has a crack on the lid, towards the back but you really cant see it unless you are looking for it. I may have spent a little to much on them, but for $175 for all three, I was happy and I didn't have to take them out.
Now, I love the color red. My truck is black with a red pinstripe, but for some reason, the interior is blue. The door panels, dash, and bench seat are all blue. But the carpet and the paint (like glovebox and ashtray) are black. So my thought is that I am going to change the interior to black and red, with the red coming from the dash, panels, and seats and leave everything else black.
I found the biggest problem of installing these was the getting the front right of the driver's seat and the front left of the passenger's seat bolted to the floor. And it makes sense that other people fabricate their own metal bracket. But I'm not the skilled and could never do it. Instead I flipped the bench seat over and took off the tracks. In the third picture you can kinda tell what I'm talking about, but the piece I used to bolt the seat down is the same piece that bolted the old bench seat to the frame.
