The prices are great! It's the shipping and handling that get's ya.
Also keep in mind that the local tire shop that You will have install them will probably charge you a small fortune (to get even for you not buying from them).
Some on line tire stores have set prices with national retailers to do the install work for tires purchased on line.
Just something to look into so your not caught off guard.
Check tire rack. You can find good deals and I've found they might be able to haggle the price or steer you into a better deal over the phone especially on stuff they have in limited quantity. For instance, I found some sweet rims for my wife's car on clearance but the website said they had less than 2 in stock. I called and they did indeed have 4, but out of 2 warehouses. Then the guy found some BF Goodrich rubber to fit, also on sale. They arrived with tires mounted and balanced in 2 days for one pair, and another day for the other pair, all via UPS ground.
I also bought Blizzak snow tires on clearance from them and had them mounted locally through one of their certified installers (Tire Warehouse up here in Mass.) The $50 Bridgestone gift card I got as part of a promo paid for the mount and balance. The guy at Tire Warehouse said I got a great deal on the tires - even with the shipping I got them for less than he could sell them locally.
Service from them is top notch. I don't work for them or have any other vested interest. Just a very satisfied customer.
