Power Window Fuse
« on: April 05, 2009, 11:52:50 am »
I have an '84 Silverado and the driver's side power window is not working.  The passenger side is fine.  In reading post here I see that you should check the fuse first.  Where exactly is the fuse for this window?  Thanks so much for your help.

I'm not totally positive but I believe that the power windows run off a 30a circuit breaker @ the fuse panel.

The 30 amp fuse supplies power to the entire system. If one window regulator isn't working and one is, the problem isn't with the fuse or the relay, (located under the dash).
Check for 12 vdc at the window switch. If the switch has 12volts but doesn't pass it thru, the switch is bad.
If the voltage goes thru the switch then the regulator motor is probably bad. Check for 12volts at the motor when the switch is pressed .If there's 12 volts at the motor and it's not operating then it's bad.
