Pretend you can buy a new Silverado/Sierra (or any other new pickup) now. If you choose another brand, please give reason(s) why.
OK, first off i have to say that financially, i really can't comfortably buy a new truck right now. Technically, i could, but i don't believe in payments nessesarily, i don't think the high initial price nessesarily makes sense, and with the economy the way it is, i feel it would be very risky.
But, we can still pretend so that when things do turn around, we'll know exactly what to get, right?
i think i would go with a 3/4 ton crew cab, 2WD, 6.6 diesel w/ allison trans, 3.73 axle
LTZ trim package---this includes the heavy-duty towing package and upscale(decent) interior as far as i can tell.
The reason why i chose a 3/4 ton is because with my eventual plans/goals, i felt that a 1/2 ton would not be up to the task. i also felt that a "mega" 1-ton dually would be too much not just truckwise, but expense wise.
The first problem is with the way i equipped it, we are at $49K. i don't think this qualifies for cash for clunkers.
The second problem is the diesel/allison trans combo is $8500 over the standard vortech 6.0 engine. This does not seem to make financial sense unless you are going to be doing ALOT of driving, which i will not be.
