Starting Issue/fuel Issue

I have a 1977 c-10 silverado with the 350 and stock 4bbl carb. All original truck that has a problem starting. When I go to crank in the mornings i have to turn the engine over for about a minute before it will start. Once you get it started and warmed up you can shut it off, then try to start and it fires up quicker than a brand new car. If you let it sit for more tha an hour or so it does this again, yet once cranked one time it will start first try everytime until it sits again. I think it must be losing fuel pressure but not sure, any help would be great.

It also once running seems to bog down at first acceleration but after just a second seems to pick up like normal, HELP!! Love the truck and drive it daily now, just want it to run its best. It has 83,000 original miles and has not had any parts replaced all still the ones that it came with which amazes me. Thnaks

first thought is choke adjustment.   Tomorrow morning before starting her up the first time, take off your air cleaner.   push back on the accelerator once and see if the carb flaps close all the way.  When it is cold, it should close all the way.  If not, adjustment is in order.

After running about 3 or 4 minutes, they should be opened all the way up.

Ever replace the starter?  Those puppies seem to turn slower and slower with use, and you may noit even realize it.  32 years is a long time for a starter.  I replaced one in my sub, even though I didnt really need to, but I was amazed at how fast the new starter turned the engine.

I think the choke is the right thing to look at here I would also give her 4-5 pumps of the gas peddle before starting it.

x2 (or 3), on what SgtDel said.  Could also be the "well plugs" (I think that's what there called).  The cranking in the morning may be the float bowl refilling. On short hops, there is still fuel in the carb.  I'd rule out the choke first though.
