Decoding Engine Vin Number
« on: January 21, 2010, 09:20:56 pm »
I've searched over the internet and can't seem to find a site with the information to decode this engine vin number.  It's the one in front of the passenger side head right behind the alternator.  The number is T1005DTW.  It is not the original motor in the truck.  I've figured out the T1005 but can't find anything that shows what the DTW would stand for.Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have any info on that code, but does it really matter to you? Pretty much small blocks are small blocks.  It has no affect on your potential power.  The only time the code matters is if you are trying to put together a numbers matching.

Actually only wanting to verify if its a 305 or 350 since it's not the original engine.  Original was a 305 with a carb.  Has been swapped to a TBI engine.
