I know in maryland and delaware if the truck is over 25 yrs you still have to have cats but that's it as long as you stay under the sound limit. And in Maryland for historic and hot rod tags they just hand them over but in order to get hot rod tags it has to be different than stock form. Different front clip mottor or a couple other things but its not supposed to be a DD. And if they are that anal about emissions I hate to see them about driving around on historic tags or hot rod tags

Man, Texas must just not be very bad about this stuff. We have the sniffer test, I don't ever remember hearing about people being pulled over and checked for it.

ya its pretty bad, makes me want to register the truck in the north where i used to live, there isnt anything up there at all for this crap. but its ok, ive got a plan now lol. There are electric air pumps on newer vehicles that im gonna pick up so i don't have another thing attached to the engine. Then gonna make an egr look like its connected to the block-off plate and that will cover it(getting my cats tomorrow) they cant physically touch my truck, so it will pass the visual test, they will see its all there and "connected" but everything is going to be blocked off as if its not there.

it may seem like alot of work for nothing, but i cant afford another 365$ for the honor of getting yanked by the worst police squad in the lands.

one question. im in need of some new manifolds or headers, and my dad and i were thinking of a trip to summit racing (and golf) so would CARB headers work for keeping the exhaust connected in the same place?
something like this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-65273/?rtype=10 . They seem pretty good, and from my readings california is a tough nut to pass.

thanks
