What a form
« on: June 10, 2009, 01:07:36 am »
i been on other forms before for my impala and compaired to this site its like i knew most of you for most of my life, i mean I'm looking at a blazer that a couple hours away and on the way someone from this site who lives on the way to the blazer offers me a transmission for it never asked for anything in return. theres a coachman north of me and another one of the guys from here offers to help me retrieve it and again ask for nothing in return. the way people talk to one another is the way people should talk to each other not downing, calling someone dumb for not using the search button and then not even helping that person out. its like something about the people who love older trucks are still old school and talk to everyone "old school". i guess what I'm saying is the people on this form act like we all live in the same housing development, trailer park or even on the same farm like we are all one big family. Just want to say thanks to all and thanks to Chris for putting up with us lol

I agree! This is the nicest forum I've been reading or posting on.

On many forums, some people forget manners when dealing with different people. It happens easier online, than when dealing face to face. Then everyone start to be ruder and tougher, and the administrators just can't do much for that. Finally loud mouthing takes over the actual subjects of the forum.  :-[

But here people seem to have some respect to each other. I'm happy I found this forum and I'll try to keep it cool on my part. Thanks everyone, let's keep it that way!  :)

It all boils down to treat people the way you would like to be treated, Keep it clean, & family oriented. As far as the dealing with people differently on line than face to face. I don't feel I am any different either way. If someone irks me here or in person I will tell them with brutal honesty whats on my mind! ;D
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

IMO this is one of the most respectable, friendly, and informative forums that i've seen. That's the main reason why I wanted to be a "site supporter".

It'd be kind of cool if there was a "73-87chevytrucks.com" show but I know it'd be hard for a lot of us to make it in one location.

It's also the fact the this forum is moderated very well. The mods/admins don't let anyone be jerks and such. If you act like that you probly get banned. I am am member of a whole lot of forums, and I can tell you that if the mods are slackers, jerks and little kids are everywhere.

I know this is an old topic, but i just wanted to say that i agree 100%. i have been a member of many different forums and this is by far the best, most well constructed, and informative one i have found. everyone is always willing to offer their opinions on your problems and questions. it seems any question you have someone on here has had the same problem or know something that may help you out. i know i made a boo boo a little bit ago about posting about a banned competitor. but with all i have gotten from this site i thought i was about time i became a site supporter. for the small amount of $25 i think its worth it. It goes to a good cause and helps keep this forum working. anyway sorry for the rambling. but i just wanted to say how much i like this forum and how i appreciate all the help i have gotten from folks on here. keep up the good work.

The best bit for me :- you guys allow limeys in!!

Yes I'm (and a couple of others are) stuck in the UK with limited information available here and you guys pop an answer straight up without calling it a silly question!

There have been a few translation issues ie rockers/sills, hood/bonnet  ;D but we got there in the end.

You've even managed to put up with my humour!!

Cheers Chris, and cheers to all the mods
