i got to say i have electric solenoids on mine but i also have the hood latch in the grille so if the battery dies no problem just pop the hood and the relays were right there too so if the switch messed up i would jump the relay. and i don't have a vent lock on my vent window so if i do screw up really bad all i have to do is reach in and grab the door handle. with the manual latches just watch the person once and you can break into there truck easer to pop the doors if you have a handfull of something or kid in your arms. also the poppers are the springs not the solenoid
