Interior color change?
« on: June 25, 2010, 10:28:23 pm »
I have an 85 Silverado that has the burgandy interior and am thinking about changing over to gray. What I am wondering is where if anywhere can I get all the pieces I need including the factory look seat upholstery without having to dye everything. The drivers door panel that I have now looks like it used to be blue and I dont want to have to dye unless I absolutley have to.  I can get my seat redone anywhere but I would like to have the factory fabric design.  I know you guys have probably been asked this a thousand times. I just recently got the   catalog. Also who makes good replacement bady panels. I have factory GM doors and fenders still in boxes so I dont need them. I will need inner and outer rocker panels.

I have changed the interior of our '84 SWB Silverado from Tan to gray.  It was originally blue but a PO changed it to tan.  I was able to accumulate all of the pieces without too much difficulty.  The plastic parts (kick panels, headliner trim, pillar moldings all came black and I prepped them and painted them and they look great you can't tell they were not originally gray. The dash and door panels I bought came in gray.  Note that it is a little harder to find "reproduction" door panels, most you will see are "replacement" which will not use original trim. Carpet is also widely available.

I sell seat upholstery kits that were made using factory seats.
I also recommend painting all of your interior pieces if they are in good condition.  There are no replacements made that are as good, and GM painted them from the factory also.
TriPlus (what I sell) is the best replacement aftermarket panels.
ACC is the best carpet kit out there and they are in our online catalog also (if it isn't there call).
