Adding Second gas tank
« on: July 12, 2010, 12:04:18 am »
I have a '73 GMC Pickup K2500 and I have a single passenger side tank.  I want to add the second tank and I was looking for opinions on the simplest way to add a tank.  Behind the axle on the drivers side etc.  I have found drivers side tanks but the drivers side of the frame doesn't already have bracketts.  Any help appreciated

You can do it both ways, side or rear. There are a few topics on adding a rear tank already. Check here too....http://73-87.com/7387garage/garage_chassis_suspension.htm

The drivers side of the frame has the holes in it. You will need to get a front, and rear bracket. They don't come with nuts so you will need to weld nuts on to match the holes in your frame. The brackets are made with holes for either side of the truck, and for the newer trucks that the holes changed position in the frame.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs
