Hot Rod Magazine DragWeek
« on: August 31, 2010, 08:37:51 pm »
We're getting ready to take our bucket of bolts on another trip!
http://www.hotrod.com/2010/dragweek/index.html
If anyone is close to any of the tracks: National Trails in OH, O'Reilly's in IN, Milan MI, Pittsburgh PA...come check it out!
We had the only '73-'87 GM truck there last year. We'll hope all is ready & up to the trip & a dozen or so 1/4 mile passes...;D Lorne

Well, We got back from DragWeek on Sunday afternoon. No real problems with the truck. Put on about 1500 miles in the week (drove from home to Columbus, Oh., over 1000 miles of mapped route + to/from the motels, out to eat, ect. & back home again) & 10 1/4 mile passes.
The wife received the "Quickest Olds" award again this year. We were a little slower than I'd hoped to see...12.21 was her best, with an average of 12.32. Same as last year I think. When we got there, one of the guys we run with asked "Did you change anything since last year?"...my reply was "Yes, The oil". I guess I shouldn't have expected anything much quicker this time of year ;)

I have lots of pictures...I'll put up a few as time permits.
Here she is "Puttin' a hurting" on our friend Rod at the starting line @ Pittsburgh Raceway.

Could you imagine being an older lady trying to get gas on the way home from the doctor's...or the impatiant salesman?

Too bad my camera doesn't have the time shown on the pictures, some of these were REAL late or early...depending on how you look at it.

 A few more

How about this one...Timing is everything!

 I'll post more later, Lorne

Cool. Let's hope the camaro won...
77 c-10 - 77 400 86 700r4 "Emmy"
83 citation - 2.5L Four on the Floor!
88 sierra - reman 350 700r4 "Eleanor"
All normal practicality and rational money handling goes out of the window when it comes to my truck.

A few more...I'm guessing the January issue will have the coverage of the event (that's the one it was in last year), Lorne
Some of these are from HOT ROD, Bangshift & 1320 video
