Manual to auto
« on: November 06, 2002, 03:38:00 am »
I am taking out my N203 and putting in a th350, Has anyone tried this? Is it better to put my shifter on the floor (86 GMC Jimmy) or should I take the whole steering column (w/ shifter) from the old truck (76 Chevy)? What are some of the problems I am looking @ besides Mounts, transfer case, driveshafts, radiator? The auto trans is freshly built, will I have to beef it up some running a 400hp 350? ANY info would be AWESOME!!
PS. I have never owned a auto trans before so ANY info will help, I am switching because my fiance cannot drive my truck the way it is (clutch too stiff) and I am getting too old and tired of shifting in traffic. :)

i can give you only one hint why no one has responded and that is you said you are replacing your NP203(which is a transfer case) with a TH350(which is a transmission) but that is only my opinion

If your fiance can't drive a manual I don't think she needs to be behind the wheel of any 400 HP vehicle!  :rollin

I wouldn't marry her until she could drive floor shift and 3 on the tree.:lol
