86 C10 wheel adapters 5x5 to 5x5.5

Hey guys, been lurking on the site for a while and just wanted to ask a quick question, Im a machinist by trade and I recently picked up a full set of nitto ventus 20s and am getting the dodge 20" spares this week grand total for both $400. Now my question is, if I build myself a set of adapters from 6061-T6 aluminum,  and install the studs and what not, will it be legal for me to run these on my truck? I live in British Columbia and the laws seem pretty lax around here. But im just asking if any one would know anything about this. The reason being as to why I want to build my own set is for the cost of two adapters from adapt-it US I can build myself all four and a case or two of beer. So help out a recently turned chevy guy and let me know what you think.

Well yes it'll be legal as far as the street goes. It'll be safe too. I was thinking of the same thing before....Just some big 20 inch steelies but what are you going to do for a center cap was my question?

Haha yeah thats what i figured, I was thinking instead of aluminum i would use a piece from the big rollers in pulp mills, Its a Stainless steel im not too sure what the specs on it are, but i figured it would be more than good enough. i just need to find someone who has one so i can copy the specs....

Im not too sure what ill be using for centers, im a little more concerned about getting the wheels on the truck first
