exhaust kits?

Well I'm tired of dealing with exhaust leaks and exhaust rattles and I want to do a true dual setup but most shops around here will not do that since the truck originaly had a single exhaust. I've found a bunch of pipe kits I can buy that say they will fit but all of them are only 2 1/4 pipe. I know that's all I really need but I'd like 2 1/2 pipe to give me room for motor upgrades and I like the sound of the larger pipes.so if there is a kit out there for a 4x4 long bed with 2 1/2 pipes and preferably tails that will exit in a 45 out the back that would be awsome! Anyone know of any?

go to a different muffler shop.  There's a place here in Richmond's west end on Horsepen Road and Broad that'll put duals on it. They put 'em on mine just as I wanted them ('79 Big 10).

Back when I first got the truck when it had the dying 305 and stock th350 it had manifolds and dual 2 1/4 pipes into glasspacks then straight out the back into 2 1/2 tails. I removed it because 1. I hate glasspacks 2.to do the right thing and put a cat back on it lmao what was I thinking. I put longtubes on and built a 2 1/2 y pipe from the pieces from the old tail pipes merged into a single 3in and a ebay cat then into two turbo mufflers. Well the cheap cat pluged up and then after the truck sat last winter I found a mice nest in it and my crappy welds keep breaking (had too long of extension cord current loss) and I don't have axcess to a welder anymore.

Screamin, I've bought the dynomax kit for long tube headers for two of the trucks I've had. It comes with everything you need including hangers and clamps (I opted to use band clamps because I knew I was going to take the exhaust off a few times) Yes it's 2 1/4" but compared to a single exhaust it flows and performs much better. It also can be used with short or long beds with the pipes that exit behind the rear wheels.  For $111-$133 from Summit you really can't go wrong. Just add mufflers and you're ready to go!

Yeah I'm actualy leaning to go that way and order that kit. You wiuldn have a picture of it on to show the fit would you?

the truck I have now I did some modifing to the kit so the exhaust exits before the rear tires. I installed a fuel cell between the frame and didn't want to run the pipes near the plastic tank. So the pics I do have would do you any good

Ah ok. Well a guy I know that has done exhaust on some of my past few vehicles said he will take a look at it if I bring it by and see what he can do....hopefully he will do it with no issues.

    screaming, do you know anybody with a tube bender ? or rent one, I helped a friend do it to his 81 because of California laws and mufflers shop's won't do anything out of smog.  It is not that hard and you just flare one end and fit the other in and clamp.  I welded flanges on his cause he has to change to get it smoged.

I got it done but I've been busy moving and I don't have internet yet except on my phone and I can't post pics or sound clips from it.the setup consists of 2 1/2 off each header then y into a single 3in into my 3in hollow tube pretty much and then to a cherrybomb vortex muffler with two 2 1/2 tails that dump over the axle on either side of the spare tire. Its got a very deep throaty sound to it not all tinny like a flowmaster. It sounds a lot like a magnaflow imo.
