205 problems
« on: February 16, 2011, 10:26:52 am »
Ok lets start with the trucks been good all winter. Went to get hay the other day and noticed a whining noise coming from the transmission it was vibrating up the gear shifter. Well it does it in gear, out of gear. now its not all the time just every now and then. But I also notice if moving I can't change the transfer case from neutral to high unless the truck is stoped and the trans is in neutral used to be able.the transfer case will grind if its done any other way. Also something I notice even if the truck is still and the shifter is in neutral the front shaft will turn till the clutch is depressed.

Thats not good, you mean the transfer case shifter right, not the transmission shifter.

This is an standard correct, I would guess the clutch/gear asssy. in the transmission for the nuetral position is not disengauging all the way, hence you have to push in the clutch to disengauage the flywheel.  When in nuetral the rear drive shaft doesn't turn still does it ?

NA just the front it would probably stop if I was to lock the front hubs. I used to be able to put the transfer case from 4x2 to 4x4 while moving with no problems
