Lift kit question

i want to get a 3 or 4 inch lift kit on my 83 gmc sierra classic its only a 2 wheel drive but i like the look, would that year of truck be ok with a 3 or 4 inch lift? and someone told me to just get a body lift kit, would that be better?

If yer gonna lift a 2wd, there are several options. Search the site, there was an active thread on this very recently
