I was at the store last night waiting on the wife & picked it off the shelf.
It's a shame to see the way the magazines/tv shows go about doing things at times...pretty soon it's a "correct" & often seen way to do something. The rocker panel/cab corner article was a BIG one! I knew we were in trouble when they installed the cab corner FIRST, then the rocker panel. Leaving a 3" or 4" square of 30 year old metal around all new metal & making a weld seam in a place where you don't need a seam is foolish & asking for a problem...they had the piece of metal & through it away!
So if your going to do a rocker panel/cab corner install...PLEASE don't do it that way. They cut the rocker in the jambs in the way I've found that works best, but blew it on the outside where it counts, go figure.
What's bad is if they are doing something that you don't know much about, you assume THIS is the "right way" to go about it...it's kinda like a GPS, we all know they work most times however they take you the least logical way many times if you know where you going regardless of what setting (shortest, quickest, ect.) you have it on.
There are MUCH better rocker/cab corner installs posted on here to anyone who needs guidance. Thats all for now, Lorne
