here is a few pics (i know we all like pics!) of my progress. this is everything that is going to be stripped from the cab rearward. plans call for trimming and adjustment of the front spring hangers as well as a leaf or 2 disappearing. hoping to lose about 4" from the rear. still need to get 2" up front, but i decided to start in the rear as the bed was already off. feel free to add thoughts or ideas. the main scheme of this build is to do a 2/4 drop, clean and smooth everything on the CHEAP! distant plans call for an exhaust mounted hair drier .

     The frame looks to be in really good shape from the pics, keep us updated with your progress.

bake, the frame (and 99% of the sheetmetal) is perfect. barely any surface rust. and beastie thats the plan. trim the hangers to the top of the double holes and move it up. i think i can get 2 or 2 1/2" just from that.

Be careful of those cinder blocks.  That is NOT a direction they have good structural support.  I heavily encourage you to find some wooden blocks if you need to have something for height under your jackstands.  I have seen cinder blocks fail ... and they did it in a spectacular way, collapsing in a cloud of dust without any warning in under a second.

yeah i wasn't fond of using them but i am planning on this being a few days at most. i knew better but didnt have a stand tall enough .

I know how it goes ... it is hard to get things high enough.  At least take your rear wheels, stack them together and slide them in the center in front of the jackstands.  That would give you enough room to get out as a back up.

with it rigged like that i wont get under the truck. trust me! and i am hoping to get the new differential back under it next week while on vacation. my ebay stuff needs to sell to finance this thing!!!

A day or a year wont matter. it can just take one bump and down they come. I would turn them so the holes are vertical and place a 2x6 between the block and the stand.
