Body mount differences?
« on: July 29, 2016, 11:51:37 pm »
So I am in the process of getting the cab back on one of my trucks (1982 K10) and I need to replace the cab mount hardware, because someone misplaced the originals.  No idea who did it since I am the only person who works on my trucks, but that person is fired.

While shopping for replacements, my wallet started hurting.

1982-84 Frame Cab Mount Retainer : http://www.classicindustries.com/product/1982/truck/parts/g2410.html  19.99 Ea.
1985-86 Frame Cab Mount Retainer : http://www.classicindustries.com/product/truck/parts/g2411.html 5.99

I don't want to spend 80.00 on replacement parts unless I understand why, I also don't wanna get stung by bees in the junk yard.  I am in a no win situation here.

Question becomes, What is the difference between the two selected cab mount thingys?  Can I use Option 2 on my 82 frame? or am I stuck spending $80.00 for year specific.

Putting in Energy Suspension bushings fyi.

Some of that comes with the new energy suspension bushings

But unless you've already bought em I'd get the stock rubber bushings
Rides better

And
Hockey pucks work great for a cheap one inch lift

Not looking to lift, already bought bushings haven't got them in the mail yet so not sure whats included just read the instructions.  Want to go away from rubber, looking for something that is going to last longer.

Just went to those two links you out up.
(1) I don't see a difference.
(2) There is a spot right below the picture of them to ask a tech. I would sugest asking them what the difference is between the two part numbers are?
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs
