ok I have removed my headliner to replace the fabric. I was able to remove about 90 percent. I have a few stubborn stop left on. I have heard of people just using a soft brush, tried that with no luck. I wanted to knoe how bad do you thing it would shouw if i just went over it. Also does anybody have any tips on redoing this. I might just stay at it and keep getting small sections until its all off. Would love to hear any poiyners or see some pictures of someones who has done this before.

Ive actually heard of people using a stiff wire brush, I THINK. It would depend on how thick the new material is whether or not the surface would show.

I used a pretty stiff wire brush. You need to get all of the old material and foam off of so you have a good surface for the glue to adhere. If you are using actual headliner material with the foam backed cloth you will want the backing piece as smooth as you can get it.

Start in the middle with a piece of material big enough to have excess on every side, spray some 3M spray adhesive on the backing and the new foam material and start in the middle and work your way to the outside, spraying and putting down a little bit at a time. Don't stretch it in the middle area where there are contours or it will make air pockets. Take your time, work slow and use lots of glue on both sides.

     Go by a local upholstery place and ask, you might even get luck and they will take if off just to show you how it was done.
