it is underrated. it isnt the strongest, but it does hold up very well. There is a kit you can get to convert it to part time 4 wd and have manual hubs.

the truck already has manual hubs but im unsure if it has the part time conversion. im still in the process of cleaning up the previous owners goof ups. i hate people who think that they know how to do something and end up making it worse than when they started

in park, with hubs unlocked, you should be able to turn the front driveshaft by hand. if you can, it has the conversion kit. it should since it has the hubs.

or with front unlocked and in 4 high unlock. if you put it in drive and still move you have the kit.

well i am guessing it has the part time kit installed if it will not move when the hubs are free, cause when i bought the truck i drove it approx 30 miles home with the hubs in free and it moved fine. thanks for the information and also has any one here rebuilt a 203?

Just make sure you drive in 4 hi, not 4 lock when the hubs are unlocked. its a good idea to lock the hubs once in a while to get the front gears lubed up, but do so still in 4 hi.
