250 inline 6 power steering brackets
« on: April 06, 2011, 11:50:09 am »
Hey guys...ive got a 80 Chevy 1/2 to 2wd swb. it originally came with a 250 but had been swapped to a v8. plans have changed and ive decided to make this my daily driver and swap a inline 6 back in for better gas mileage. ive fo
und a really nice 250 out of a 67 swb but it doesnt have ps. ive done a little research and found that these ps brackets are hard to come by. ive run across another inline 6 out of a 76 lwb but its already been pulled and i dont know for sure if it runs...and it looks alot rougher....BUT...it has ps. could i modify that ps bracket to fit the 67?...because the blocks look a little differnt..or does anyone know where i can find the correct ps brackets for the 67 engine?

also, im wanting to swap to a manual trans. the 67 has a 3spd column shift....the 76 has a granny 4spd. which tranny would be better....and could i use the 67 pedals and linkage? would i run into ay other problems as far as mounting or drivelines go? or would it be better to just leave the th350 in it? sorry for all the questions but im kinda scratching my head still lol

The power steering brackets should swap.
The pedal assem from the 67 won't work.
The granny 4 speed is going to be stronger and geared for pulling.  If you want to shift gears swap, if not keep what you have.
