wiper motor problems i think
« on: May 08, 2011, 01:12:05 pm »
OK I don't know if the truck I bought 85 wiper motor ever worked. I bought the truck never drove it and just did the rebuild. So I almost have the truck done and am getting it ready for inspection. I just noticed the my wipers don't work. I checked the power going to the motor and i have power at the plug. I know when I turn the wiper pump on from the handle it works for the squirter's. I can watch my wipers flicker when I turn the switch on  can the blades just twitch a little than nothing. So how do I tell if my motor is bad or just the switch. Or is one my likely to go than the other. I should also metion that they are interment wipers.

You can unplug the connector for the wiper motor and put power direct to see if the motor is good.  You said you checked power at the plug and you had power going to motor.  If this is correct I assume it was the correct voltage, so do the one more check I mentioned and if your wiper motor does not work you need a new one.
