Well....
I got an '86 C10 for basically nothing. It was heading to the junk pile. The body is OK except for the typical cab corners and rocker panels. It also has a few holes rusted in through the firewall. It leaks moderately when it rains. I have plenty of dents and bangs.. I wanted to do an off frame restore but realized quickly that doing so would cost more $$$ and time than I had. So... I did a really good clean up on the engine and transmission, wheel bearings, rear end, and pretty much all mechanical stuff that could go wrong.. I cleaned the interior up as best as I could and took the rotten carpet out and used some material like Rhino lining for the floor.. Drilled some drain holes in the floor so when it rains the water runs out.. and just enjoy driving a dented up C10 that runs really good. I use it for a farm truck, hauling loads and occasional trailer pulling.
When you get one of these, sometimes it's just as much fun driving a beat up truck for way less $$$ than spending tons of $$$ and being afraid to drive it.
Keep the pics coming, I love seeing restoration progress and updates on stuff like this.
