Brake/Clutch pedals
« on: November 28, 2009, 12:00:51 pm »
Converting my 79 C10 to Automatic from Manual. First i need to know if all the trucks had the hole in the floor for the clutch pedal rod? If so, I should be able to take one of those block off plates from another truck to cover the hole in the floor.

Second. I am going to change to the large brake pedal that the auto trucks have. Is the bracket that holds the pedals the same? Do I just remove the old pedal and put the new pedal in its place? Or is it a whole different bracket?

Also, since i'll be down there, where do i get new bushings for the brake pedal? I don't want it to squeak or flop around any. The clutch pedal did a horrible job at that, but lucky for me, no more clutch pedal  ;D

Only manual trucks have a hole.  You will have to seal it up.
manual and auto pedal assemblies swap, but you have to take all 6 bolt off the firewall.
Never had one that needed bushing so I can't answer that.

I am in the process of swapping transmissions but I am going the other way. I was told that the cluch and brake assembly will work in my truck. So I figure and automatic set up will work in yours.
