Here's my 36x12.5x16/5 on 16.5x 10" wheels.

They don't look odd at all to me. but they were a nightmare to get the bead to seat up. I run them about 18psi to get a good tread contact on the ground. The 16.5" wheels, as I understand it, are worse about loosing the bead because they are tapered beads, unlike 15's or 16's which are straight beaded wheels.
I have a set of 35x12.5x15 tires I'll be putting on a set of 15x10" wheels soon. I guess I'll see what the difference is when I get them put on.
