heater core??

changing heater core 85 k20. got the unit out of truck no problem. can't get core out of box. removed 4 screws but acts like there are more.

Dunno if it changed later on, but my 79 has 4 screws holding 2 brackets. It could be some old caulking or something holding it in in a area you cant see.

If memory serves, I had to pry open the end and slide the old core out. I never was able to get it completely open. I think there is a bracket in there that causes the snag.

vacuum arm  has a nut that has to come off.about a 2 hr job removing and installing core.
