4 speed 'problems'
« on: March 08, 2003, 08:39:00 pm »
my manual 4 speed tranny is acting really funny lately. Sometimes it doesnt want to go into second or third. like something is blocking it. it makes a little more 'rattle' than it ever did. could something just be comming loose inside? Should i check the gear grease inside before i get too worried about it? how does one check the grease anyhow, never done it but have been meaning to for a long while.

You may need a new slave cylynder for you clutch, my friend had teh same problem, maybe an adjustment thats all i can say, maybe change your the gear oil too, if theres alot of metal floating around then that would definately indicate somethins wrong. Good luck hope that helps some

NeverMind "grease" Check the oil SAE 80w-90, or GL-5 in cold climates. Your granny tranny has both fill & drain plugs, on the right side. Hope your not too late.....Jon
