295 fatties on the back??
« on: September 27, 2004, 11:59:00 pm »
i am wanting to put at least 295's on the back. but the only tire size i can find that is that wide(on a 15 inch rim) is a 50 series. i was hoping to stay a little thicker on the back. anyone know of any tires that are that wide or wider :)  that are maybe a 60 series or so. i want the nice look of fat and wide on the back, then ...not so fat and wide on the front. new rims are going with the tires, so no problems with changing rim sizes. and how much offset do i need to accomodate my 295's

Heres a pic of my stepside with P275/60/R15, thats about as big as you can go with 60 series. 50 series look real good and If you could get a pic of your truck or at least some measurements of the wheelwell and how low it is if its been lowered I could help you some more.

Mine w/the  p275/60's

my friends camaro with p295/50's

my old truck with 275/60's

i stuffed 285/70/15 on the rear of my C-10.  It had a nice pro-street look.  the truck also had an 8 inch drop in the rear with no rubing.  i hear you can put them on 10" wheels and still tuck with the right offset

thanks sano, mine is at stock height, riding a little lower in the back due to alot of weight in the back throughout the winter.(went in the ditch last year on black ice) anyway, i'll try and attatch an older pic, as i don't have any newer ones. ride height is still the same. as referance, i have 235/75/16's. anyway, i want the tire to stick out on the back, i like that look, so i need some negative offset..correct?? anyway, hope the pic works, and hope it helps. thanks! personally I'd just go with the 295/50's  in back, if you really want a your tire/wheel combo sticking out then try a reverse/custom offset, I'm not sure exactly sure what that would be, you'd have to ask your local tire/wheel shop. Another route would be if you don't care about a bunch of heavy loads and how often you buy new tires. If you don't care about that then I'd go with some mickey thompsons, something along the lines of 31x12.50x15's or something....those will give you a little bit of a pro street look if thats what your really looking for
