Cruise control
« on: September 06, 2011, 05:25:24 pm »
I am looking for a truck, one of the requirements is cruise control. What is the first year that it is an option. I checked the gm heritage site but it seems to be down for me.

I think it was more the options the truck had, I know I saw a camper special c30 in the pick - n pull that had it and it was a 73 or 74, it looked factory to me with vacuum assist.

My '77 had factory cruise control, but it was the large cumbersome vacuum style.  You can easily add an aftermarket Rostra to almost anything. http://www.rostra.com/

It was available from 1977.  Personally, none of them worked well, the latter ones are ok, but none of my from 87-91 work worth using.
