got a question guys...
« on: September 11, 2011, 08:18:37 pm »
first off i apologize if this is in the wrong category or if this is considered a wanted ad.  i think i should be ok.  a good friend of mine was just over earlier and we were talking. he mentioned he has a big ole 4x4 he has been toying with.  long story short, he has a 76 chevy reg cab. 350 small block, turbo 350. 4x4,  fleetside bed., lifted , ill get pics soon and he will be joining soon.  his cab is rotteddddd beyond repair. floor, rockers, pillars ect are toast.  his doors, fenders hood and glass is all great.  so, question is, when the time comes,  approximately. how much you think he is looking to pay for a cab ?  he  lives in west springfield Pennsylvania.  hes not ready yet, just trying to get an idea. thanks guys.

I've seen cabs here with titles for 50-200 depending on the year and what the people are leaving on. In fact, I'm going to look at a crew cab this week that's two bills. Of course I have no experience with you rust belters, so that could easily double I'd say for something that doesn't need chemo.

There is a place just east of Pittsburg that deals in California truck body parts. There is a cab on the Buffalo craigslist for 150.00. If the body is that bad I recomend finding a 2 wheel drive parts truck . They can be the best bang for the buck if you buy them right.

If the cab is that bad I would take a hard look at the frame.  I find it hard to believe if it is as bad as you describe the frame isn't to far behind it in spots.  My $.02

I agree with zieg85. I have found that from the cab back on the frame is usually bad when the cab is beyond repair.
