exhaust question
« on: September 28, 2011, 10:02:05 pm »
i put in a new motor and replaced the exhaust pipes from headers to muffler to 2.5in and the muffler is smaller then that and also is the pipe going to the tips. will this cause any issues? i have turbo mufflers and i love the way the truck sounds with the cam. any suggestions would be helpful
thanks in advanced

Is it a single style exhaust meaning not true duals just a single muffler. Imo you can't beat a single 3in exhaust. Isnt the stock size on these trucks like 2.25 or 2.5?

a true dual exhaust. well you can tell that the new pipe is bigger. maybe an inch or so... where the new pipe meets the muffler there is a piece of the old pipe and it smaller. will this affect anything?? if so what other muffler will sound like the turbo muffler

You can buy new turbo mufflers pretty cheap. Like $20 a piece.

The last set I bought were summit racing turbo mufflers. A lot of times like advanced auto or autozone have them also. I'd get thw saze of your new piping.
