Where to get factory cab light harness
« on: October 05, 2011, 06:27:51 am »
I took my factory cab light harness and was adapting it to the Lund visor since they no longer make the wiring for it.    All was good until the last one broke a lead on me.....and now what seems like a simple thing to find is causing me the biggest headache ever.    Anyone know where I can find just a single lead for the factory cab lights??

*Wanted to buy goes in the classifieds section only*

i know this isnt to help but if one of these leads is broke would it cause all the roof lights to go out as thats what happened on my dually and i really would hate to take the interior out of the roof to get to the wires

I dont beleive all of them would go out unless the broken lead is grounding it self out.     And you dont have to rip too much interior out, its routed up through the A-pillar from under the dash, and you get to it by taking the cab lights off.

Have you looked through a Borg-Warner electrical parts catalog at an auto parts store (such as O'Reilly's)?  I know they offer many different factory type and specialty connectors/pigtails (like GM radio pigtails).  They may have the lighting plug in that you can splice into your existing wiring harness.

This is a more exact picture of what I am looking for.  I took the leads / prongs out of the connector to glue the connectors to my visor, just use to small brad nails down each side to trigger the release tab.   The harness I am using came out a an 86 GMC cab if that helps pinpoint the parts.

Im a tech at a gm dealership that is a common gm terminal. See if you can go up to your nearest dealer and and try to talk to one of the technicians, in the tool room or shop office they should have trays with every terminal gm has used. maybe you can sweet talk them into selling you a few.
