Short box dually?
« on: December 07, 2011, 08:18:52 pm »
Has anyone ever built or seen a short box dually?  This image appeared in my head when I was working today of a short box dually with a shortened 1 ton frame and a big block used as a towing machine.  But then I started thinking that it would probably be all over the road when towing unless you used stabilizer bars for the trailer.  Has it ever been done?

I have seen one that a guy around Sac built, he did what you said and shortened down a regular dually.  He used it for maneuvering around in parking garages ( I think he did something as far as work in them ), he towed a pretty heavy trailer with it and said he never has had a problem with towing.

Hmmm, I was thinking of selling my truck but now I'm picking up a good fleetside box for it this weekend and might consider building one of these.  Definitely not something you see everyday.  I'd have to see some more pics of them though.
