Found in a field today
« on: February 13, 2012, 04:20:43 pm »
I was out taking photos for a real estate listing, for a property of a deceased fella, and ran across some interesting trucks he had in the back "yard" (man, I'd love to have a yard like that). While the fire truck is pretty cool, the two medium duty Chevies, and the flatbed 1 ton intrigue me the most.

The blue Chevy truck looks like it's been there for a while.   ;D
How bad was it rusted?

I only saw some surface rust. I didn't inspect it very closely, but didn't notice any real cancer.
That red bobtail would make a great hay hauler and parade float tractor... polish it up, get 'er runnin' good, maybe a set of stacks...

The blue couldn't have been there too long. There's not any dead growth around. Like it was put there after the grass and stuff stopped growin this year. Compare it to the others.

It must have been hard to not take a few minutes and take a close look at that 1 ton.  ;D

It was. I peeked inside, saw that it had a manual tranny, but I was in a hurry to catch up with a really unpredictable realtor.

They could make for some darned pleasant Spring afternoons cleaning and tinkering.

That blue one-ton looks salvageable.  With the amount of pine needles on the ground, you'd think the thing would be covered in needles if it had sat there very long.

The fire truck and the dump truck are Ford... There's a chance that the Chevy medium duty truck has the Tachometer/Vacuum gauge cluster... Would be a shame if it did and it was dispatched to the crusher.

Erp, you're right. I wasn't paying close attention to the dumper, and just kinda pictured it as a 70 model or so.  Well... I'd love to get my paws on the bobtail and the flatbed 1 ton
