12 bolt c-clip rearend question
« on: April 04, 2012, 10:53:11 am »
I have a 12 bolt out of an '83 c10 it's either a 3.42 or a 3.73, I was in a hurry the last time I counted the ring and pinion. Is it worth trying to sell it or should I just load it up and scrap it? I've heard people say the 12bolt c-clip rear ends aren't much stronger than a 10 bolt. As far as I know it is a good rear end, I bought the truck not running for parts and this is the last thing I have laying around. Any advice would be great.

A good rear end is always something that can sell if someone is looking for one.  The 12 bolt is a little bit stronger than the 10 bolt.  I would take the time to recount the ring and pinion though.  Could be a better selling tool if you knew and someone was looking for a specific gear ratio.

Look around in your area and see what similiar things are going for, supply and demand.
