« on: November 11, 2012, 04:53:33 pm »
Im doing a 305 to 454 swap. I have a 86 gmc that i pulled the motor out had a 305. i plan on putting a 85 chevy 454 motor that i have and wondering what motor mounts do i need to use. Will the 305 motor mounts work or do i have to get some 454 motor mounts. Thanks for any help.

You will have to use Mounts for a big block. It's not that hard because they will bolt right in because the frame is almost the same in your truck as one that came with a big block like a c or k 30. I looked here in the store but they don't offer the mounts howeve you can get them at somewhere like oriellys here's a link. I would choose the first ones listed because I'm cheap and they are like OEM replacements so you know they will last.

You don't need BBC specific mounts in a 1/2T truck.  I have swapped out several over the last 25 years and used the same mounts from the SC.
