My truck is a short bed , dont know if there is dif between short and long bed drive shafts . Some told me u cant just switch tail shafts witout takin the trans all the apart .      The tail shaft can only be switched by taking apart the transmission.  On re-assembly, the tail shaft goes in first and then the rest of the components for the transmission.
There are articles all over the net about this, but they will not help you tear one apart and put it back together.  If you have never done one a transmission shop is your best bet.
Why do you need a 6" shaft if your came with a 9" ?  Or is this not the original trans ?

I must have mis understood, if you are going to swap out your trans for the 6" version, it is cheaper to have your driveline lengthened then replace the tail shaft.
If you have a junk yard close by one option is to find a drive shaft out of a truck with the 6" tail cone, should bolt right up.  Then after you drive it you will know wether or not it is still in balance or if it will need to be taken off and balanced.

How about getting one out of a long bed and cuttin it down to fit . I figure its easier than adding to mine . Is there any aftermarket trans mount that i can use to fit the 6" tail . Maybe  a adjustable trans mount for 9" and 6" tail

Yes, and yes.  That switch is popular on z28 camaro's, there are several threads on their web sites.  Do a Internet search for after market trans mount for 9" swap to 6" th350 transmission.

Why not just move your cross member?
