TH350

I'm trying to decide how deep to tear into this turbo 350. It worked fine before. The only time was when I had to replace the governor gear because it was worn. I wonder if this trans was rebuilt at sometime. The bushing in the extension housing for the yoke is nice and shiny and doesn't looked scored or scuffed. The seal looks decent. The cork on the pan gasket looks like crap. It appears to be falling apart. Just from outside. I didn't drop pan yet. The front pump has some color to it like it has been painted but is worn. The front seal was leaking.

Here is my thought for now. I want to replace front pump seals and rear seal and ext housing o ring and filter and gasket. Just seal it back up and go, but I worry about the output shaft. If I had to replace the governor gear does that indicate bushings. The output shaft moves quite a bit without the ext housing on. Is this normal. Probably 1/8" in all directions.

Should I do anything else to the front pump while out?
