Dumbo to sport mirrors
« on: February 09, 2013, 04:41:45 pm »
I have removed my dumbo mirrors and already have the sport mirrors. Need to know if I need to add support inside the door skin. I don't want the screws to just pull through the metal. I gota get these installed because I am prepping it for paint and need to get the extra holes filled.

I checked the TECH page and it showed the pictures but I need to know if there is a big square piece already on the inside of the door skin.

I think that the piece you are talking about is only on factory doors. There has been a discussion about that here in the past.

Are you talking about a big square piece of metal where the mirror mounts?  There is nothing behind the mirrors other than the brace that connects both sides.

Yea I found that thanks. I was hoping there was a support plate behind the door skin just for re-enforcement.
