I don't know what you mean by reverse carrier, but if are talking about the center support then it will come out after you take all of the intermediate snap rings out of the case, AND you also have to drop the valve body to access the bolt that holds the center support to the case.

The bolt should be located right in the middle of the mouse cheese maze looking into the bottom of the case. It should take a 7/16" 12-point socket to take it loose. Don't lose this bolt, it has a hole so that oil can apply your direct clutch.

Just to clarify that you are talking about the center support: In this order, you removed the torque converter, then the front pump, (the front pump won't come out until the oil filter has been removed) after the front pump you removed the forward clutch drum (with the input shaft) then the direct drum, then the intermediate band (about 1.25" wide) then the three large intermediate clutch discs, and all of the intermediate clutch plates, and snap rings. At this point the next component is the center support. Is this the item you are referring to?

Also, may I ask where you got your 475? I have a couple 400s out there in mud trucks, and so far they are still putting up to their owner's abuse. However, I am looking at building my own 400/475. Right now I have a few 400s but nothing with straight cut gears. My next 400 will be capable of holding 1,000HP, and straight cut planetaries will complete this build.

Also, what are your plans for your 475? If your 475 has 6 friction discs in the direct clutch there are kits that will allow you to put 7 directs, 6 forwards, and 4 intermediates. (This is one more friction than what comes factory) If you are not pushing over 500HP none of this is necessary, and just an expense. But if you are going over 500HP there are a ton of mods that will make your tranny even better.

Let me know if you are interested in the BIG mods. :)

You know OP it has been over a week and you still haven't came back to this thread.

If you are going to prey on the knowledge of this forum then atleast have the decency to respond. The advice you receive here is free, but it has come at a cost to many of us in both time and money. I don't mind helping people, but I feel a show of gratitude is the least we should ask.

I was going to take down my post, but I'll leave it up so it may be of help to someone else that may be searching the forums in the future. Hopefully someone someday can benefit from this thread, and it wasn't a waste of time on my part.
