Roadmaster Active Suspension
« on: May 09, 2013, 02:02:39 pm »
I'm sure many of you guys have heard of the Roadmaster product, just wondering if anyone on here has this kit or knows someone who does. I've read good reviews about it on the internet and was wondering how it would work on a street truck. I plan on lowering my truck and this kit claims to eliminate wheel hop and help with sway control, so I was thinking it would work well on a street truck. I can get this kit at the shop I work at "at cost" for $285, whereas summit wants $360 something. Seems like a good deal just wanted some thoughts, comments or reviews from people who drive similiar trucks.

I installed these helper springs on my 1989 C1500 (regular cab long bed) because the rear end sagged noticeably when I hooked my (loaded) utility trailer up to it.  These springs practically eliminated the sag.  The springs produce a noticeably stiffer ride -- kind of like the difference between the ride of a 1/2 vs. a 3/4 ton.  I've had the springs on this truck for about 6 years or so now without any problems or complaints.  I can't comment on wheel hop -- I've never experienced it with this truck either before or after installation of the Roadmaster springs.  As for sway control, these springs made no difference at all on this truck.  I think a rear sway bar would likely be much better able to address rear sway.
