Driveline vibration**6" flip**
« on: March 15, 2013, 09:05:21 pm »
Its a 85 swb c10 with Mcgaugheys 4.5/6 drop..Motors fairly new, trans is new, u joints are new and ahafts balanced..Installed 4 deg shims to correct pinion angle and it still vibrates! I shimmed trans up just a little thinking driveline needed a little more angle, vibrates worse..So,what now?? It vibrates 45 -60 then gets better..any suggestiins?

I think you said your drive lines were balanced, correct ?  How are you determining the vibration is coming from the drive lines ? ( do you have 2 ? )

  and ahafts balanced..

Well, ive put it in neutral at speed and vibration continues..Or atleast it feels that way,its either engine or driveline ..Im pretty sure its driveline from past experience but the pinion shims didnt help so im kinda stumped and the trucks too dam low to slide underneath to put a degree gauge on trans and pinion, just kinda guessd at it..I thought most flip kits have the needed pinion angle adjustment built into the perches?
