79 gmc sierra, 350 engine. Dropped my old saginaw 3 speed manual and put in a th350 longtail (9 inch tail).My drive shaft is a few inches too long to fit the th350, could I find a correct drive shaft in the junk yard or will I have to have the old one cut down to size. Thanks.

Yes.  The drive shaft is the same for a 700R4 as well.  When I did that exact swap on a 79 GMC it had the 2 piece drive shaft in it.  I went to a single piece...

Thanks! Forgot about the 700r4 being same length. Going to the junkyard tomorrow, most likely be easier to find a shaft from a 700r4.

No problem, if you are close to me I have an extra in the shed.  I think I still have the original 2 piece in there from before.
