The 1987 5.7K used a single-wire O2 sensor mounted near the outlet of the left exhaust manifold and connected directly to the ECM through a one-way Weatherpack connector and purple wire.  See the 87 Computer Control Wiring Schematic here.

soooo........ any update? i see you posted in another post about your o2 sensor. but if you could keep all post retaining to this problem here so we can have an ideal on whats done or needs to be done. thanks

Sorry about the 2 different post.I will keep u updated when i get back home to finish installing the wiring and O2 sensor.Hope it solves the problem.
