going from th350c(9") to th350 (6")

has anyone ever went from a th350c 9" tail to a th350 6" tail .drive shaft is about 3"to short  with this trans .first i thought about buying new longer d shaft but then a guy said they make 8" yokes (yoke for 350c is about 5.5 inches) and this will work but i needed more feed back from my fam  THE  CHEVY C-10 LOVERS .just to make sure he wasnt just trying to sell something

I am only familiar with the longbeds.  The short TH350 is the same as a truck with a 3 or 4 speed OD manual.  Longbeds went with a 2 piece shaft.

when i went to a long to short i bent into a bone yard and found a two piece. it was a little shorter than i need but made her work. the one junkyard i worked at would put all the drive shafts on a shelf and you could just pick what you wanted.

Output shafts from th350c and th350 can be interchanged. I'd just swap the output shaft with the length you need and be done. Takes about an hour with the transmission on a bench. I remove everything and set it on a clean foam sheet in the order I remove it, except for the clutch packs, I slide those over a horizontal tube in both the same order I remove them, AND the same orientation & clocking.

Not all longbeds came with 2 piece shafts either, I still have the driveshaft out of my '84 GMC c1500 hanging in my parents garage..its a one piece driveshaft for a TH350c w/ a 9" tail housing.
