Why like 73-87's ? Why do you ?

Don't know about you but I like 73-87 more than the 50's or 60's trucks even more than the 68-72s, shocking ! For me like many of you the 73 up body style is what I group up with. So I am partial to 73 up Trucks Ford / Chevy's not so much Dodge.
68-72s Chevys are nice and many of them have automatics, power steering, brakes and even AC.
But they are pricey and the 73 up trucks are better engendered.
The early 60s and 50s trucks are way cool, but out of my price range. If they are made into a Rostomod like I'd have to have.
So when I went to look for a Chevy truck I started looking at 73 and up trucks.
My dream truck would be a Dodge Dude but I am a MoPar guy.
How ever next to it in my garage would be my 73 C10 !

I can fix it myself...that's what has saved it from going down the road.
I can count the spark plugs and even climb in the engine compartment if I had to.
Now if the old '87 got 20mpg instead of 12, I'd have a driveway full of 'em.

I grew up with on early 80's model and watched it pull a complete full size trailer frame off the cinderblocks and drug to he back field after the trailer burnt down. Never even spun a tire. The '87 I have now t even more sentimental but mostly to my wife. It was bought brand new and 6 months after buying it her grandfather died of cancer. So it was passed on to her mom and dad and then to us. Wouldn't trade it for anything even though my name isn't on the tidal. Besides that look at them..they don't make 'em like this anymore. I laugh when a plastic box on wheels tries to bully me on the road. He/she may attempt to cut me off or force me to move which I don't if I feel forced but when I move so do they. It's the closest thing to driving a tank on the open road as you can get now a days.

The UK is being flooded with 50's and 60's truck at the moment. Imports from dry States and people wanting the "patina" look.
The 80-87 Blazer/Truck etc are reasonably plentiful as the US air bases here sold off the stock.
'73-79 Blazers and Trucks seem to be quite rare. I've been checking the auction sites for 6 years since buying my first one and never seen another crew. A few single cabs for spares but they are rotten out and often come engineless.
So I guess the fact they're rare over here and easy to work on is why I love em!

G-parents had a 79 scottsdale with a highly built motor and fell in love with the round eye chevy trucks, why I waited to find the 77 k5 that I have and the 72 c-10
