about the tank
this might help with the wire harness
this should really help
I swapped TBI into my '84, and it is VERY VERY simple. I've been doing EFI swaps for years, but even for a first timer the TBI stuff is straight forward.

To do it right, you should have an 02 sensor, a knock sensor, coolant temp sensor, and a vehicle speed sensor.

The vehicle speed sensor requires a later cluster with a VSS output - but you don't *really* need this, unless your gonna run
a late style lockup converter.

The 02 sensor just gets a bung welded into the exhaust. You don't *really* need this, unless you want the computer to correct
the air fuel ratio for you. If you don't run an 02 sensor the car will just stay in open loop.

The coolant temp sensor helps with enrichment, and effects some of spark advance.

The knock sensor, IMO is important because it will allow you to run lots of advance, but keep you out of trouble should the motor ping.

The rest of the sensors (TPS, IAC) are on the throttle body itself.

Wiring is very very simple, especially if you have the donor harness. I ran the donor harness, ran the ecm wires into the firewall (replacing the ignition box), then spliced them into the factory harness near the bulkhead (by the brake master cyl).  All you need is power, some grounds, ignition, and crank.

You will however find a need for the 94 amp alternator. I took one out of the donor '87, and just swapped the pully to use with my old style vbelts.

Got the same engine in my 82. Didn't keep the tbi... I had to change flywheels as mine didn't work. All else worked out. Just need to get that 700r4 in

What's under the hood??? If you have to ask maybe we shouldn't race...

Thanks for the welcome and information. I have the 92 truck and drive it all the time so i have everything i need other than a frame mounted fuel pump. I need to kno what wires from the ecu to wire up to the 82 and where. Also i need to kno what it is i have to wire up to make the sensors work. Im not real concerned with o2s but eventually will use them. I may jus cut the exhaust off the 92 just past the bungs and use it on the 82 aswell. Im gonna search this site too but ive never been a member of a forum so itll take me a while to figure everything out.

you can see some of the pictures of me removing it from my R10 that now has a LS in it.
there are only a few wires that have to connect.  grounds, power and the ALDL and SES light.  If you remove it from the 92, it "should" be about the same.

All if the pinouts for 73-87s are in the tech section.
